one part gruesome, one part fun

I suppose it’s time I did something with those deer skulls I found last winter – these two will be shown at the Robert Daniel Gallery in Tacoma this weekend. There’s nothing more satisfying than getting paint over every little curve of those turbinates.

(what? you don’t know what turbinates are? don’t worry, i didn’t either. but they’re lovely little spongy bones inside your nose, and these deer skulls had lots of ’em.)
